Are ultra thin condoms really useful?
Condoms should be thin, which seems to have become a consensus among everyone. Ultra thin condoms means a closer distance and it is easier to feel each other’s body temperature when using it. Therefore, several major condom brands on the market are trying to develop “ultra-thin” condoms, and have even reduced the thickness of condoms to micron level.
Cutting open the ultra-thin condoms and observing their cross-sections, we can see that some products are so thin that the size of the cross-section cannot be see with the naked eye. Although this feeling of not being able to feel the presence of the condom is tempting, the core value of condoms is to protect each other. Can such thin condoms really be use with confidence? Are they really as good as advertised?
Ultra thin is not just a gimmick
From the product itself to the experience of using it, “ultra-thin” is not just a gimmick for marketing. The extreme thinness is indeed different from ordinary condoms in terms of the experience of using it. (I wanted to put a cross-sectional picture of ultra-thin condoms, but they are really hard to take a clear picture when they are laid flat…)
The thickness of a condom will affect the feeling when using it. There are many nerves on the skin of sensitive parts of the human body, and they can feel very slight changes like the Princess and the Pea. Some people say that for every 0.01mm reduction in the thickness of the condom, the pleasure will increase by 20%. Such data is more subjective, but when you actually use it, you will indeed feel a significant difference. Of course, as to whether the difference is really that obvious, it can only be say that it varies from person to person, and you need to experience it yourself.
Ultra thin, not so easy to break
Condoms are mainly made of latex, and if they are made too thin, they will become very fragile and easy to break. Ultra-thin condoms are mostly made of polyurethane, which is more transparent than latex condoms and has a harder texture, much like plastic. Although its elasticity is worse than latex, its fatigue strength is higher than latex, so it is not so easy to break during use. While being “ultra-thin”, it can improve thermal conductivity and bring both parties closer.
Okamoto was wrongly cause
When it comes to polyurethane, the material of ultra-thin condoms, it is necessary to say a few more words about Okamoto.
I heard that Okamoto (Japanese brand condom) is relatively small. Such rumors have deterred many men from using Okamoto and other Japanese condoms, as if using them means admitting some physical deficiencies. In fact, everyone has wronged Okamoto. In addition to the size differences between European and American brands and Japanese brands (similar to the situation when you buy European and American brand clothes and local brand clothes, the S, M, and L size standards are different. The same S size may be larger in Europe and the United States than in China, but it does not mean that there are no local sizes that are the same as in Europe and the United States), there is also the misunderstanding caused by its main “ultra-thin” promotion.
Small size
Usually, ultra-thin condoms are smaller in size to enhance the fit; and ultra-thin condoms made of polyurethane are harder than latex condoms, making them harder to put on. Okamoto’s main product is ultra-thin, and this combination of “small” and “hard to put on” can easily make people feel that “Okamoto’s condoms are smaller”.
Addition, according to the data in the manual, the standard width of Durex AIR ultra-thin condoms is 52mm, and the standard width of Okamoto 003 is 53±2mm. In comparison, the size of Okamoto may be larger than that of Durex ultra-thin condoms.
In short, when buying condoms, it is more important to choose the model that suits you best (try a few more). If it is too big, it will easily slip off (and will create greater friction, making girls very uncomfortable), and if it is too small, it will restrict blood circulation and affect physiological functions. As for whether to use “ultra-thin” or “ultra-thin” can bring you a more extreme experience, it still depends on the individual!
