    When talking about health preservation, most people may think of soaking wolfberries in a thermos, practicing Tai Chi in the park, dancing in the square, doing physical therapy in the community, and buying health products at high prices on TV! However, people have neglected the most primitive and simplest way of keeping healthy, Long baths. Bathing does not require any skills or difficult movements, but has countless benefits.

    There is an old saying that goes like this: ” When you wake up in the morning , your skin is wrapped in water, and when you go to bed, your skin is wrapped in water. This means you will be healthy and live a long life, and living to be a hundred years old is not surprising .” (When you wake up in the morning, your skin is wrapped in water, which means you should drink water first after getting up in the morning. Only when the water enters the body can the skin wrap around the water. When you go to bed, your skin is wrapped in water, which can be figuratively summarized as water wrapping around the skin.)

    01 Why choose a bath

    The modern lifestyle is rich and convenient, which solves many problems, but also brings many health problems.

    A netizen shared her personal experience. She was told by the doctor in the hospital that she had a lot of dampness. She took liver and spleen medicine for half a year, but felt that the effect was slow. After being introduced by someone, she started taking medicinal baths, and it has been more than half a year now.

    I am over 40 years old and have always had acne. I took Chinese medicine for acne treatment 5 years ago. The acne on my face is not big, but there are still acne and acne marks. My face looks dirty.

    I have dinner at 20:30, sleep at around 23:30, wake up at 7:30 in the morning and can’t wake up. I have many dreams at night, and I remember the dreams very clearly in the morning. My head feels heavy and I can’t turn it. My waistline has increased by several circles, and I have a lot of fat (I used to be very thin and I felt that I couldn’t gain weight). I also had herpes zoster last year. I checked Baidu for relevant information. Herpes means low immunity, and warts mean heavy moisture. There are more warts on the neck and armpits because there are more nodules there, and the meridians are very blocked.

    She didn’t like exercise, but she followed a doctor’s advice and went walking for three weekends, but eventually gave up for various reasons.

    So she started trying medicinal long baths in June. The first time she took a bath with medicinal bath powder, she felt that there was no difference from a plain water bath when she first entered the water. Gradually, her face began to sweat, and she felt that she could not hold on any longer after 5-6 minutes (a plain water bath usually takes a long time). She sweated a lot on her face, and it felt like the sweat on her face was steamed out, but it was more comfortable than sweat steaming, which is dry heat and makes the whole body feel hot.

    I dried myself, put on my clothes and lay down. As a result, sweat kept coming out of my face, neck and chin. I wipe it with a tissue and it was wet. I felt very tired and wanted to sleep (a sign of physical weakness and lack of sleep). When I lay down, I felt that my pores were open and my whole skin was breathing (the pores felt like they could breathe).

    I woke up a little later than usual the next day. I felt that I slept better than usual and slept deeply, but I was very energetic and felt refreshed.

    Now let’s talk about the changes that have taken place in her body over the past six months.

    At first she just wanted to remove moisture, but after soaking she felt her pores opened and she slept well. With professional guidance, she soaked for 7 consecutive days, commonly known as “soaking to clear the dampness”. Later she insisted on soaking 1-2 times a week.

    After 3 months, I felt my head was lighter, the skin on my back was much better, and there were fewer small pimples. My face also felt smoother and whiter (no more red pimples). I had dreams at night, but I basically couldn’t remember them, and I didn’t feel tired when I woke up the next day.

    After 5 months, I was pleasantly surprise to find that my waist pain had gone (because I suddenly realize that I hadn’t gone for moxibustion for a while), and the pain in my shoulders and neck was not obvious either.

    When my baby was 6 months old, it was already December (it was very cold in Shanghai). One day when I was changing the quilt, I remembered that I had not turned on the electric blanket (I used to turn on the electric blanket when sleeping in winter). When the lowest temperature was about 3-4 degrees, I still didn’t turn on the electric blanket.

    02 Bathing has many benefits

    • Firming and moisturizing

    By removing dampness and coldness from the epidermis and muscles, the skin becomes better and you can feel the improvement in acne and changes in skin color.

    • Preventing and controlling chronic diseases

    Long-term bath therapy can effectively prevent high blood pressure, high blood lipids, high blood sugar, high uric acid and high cholesterol. Even if you already have the three highs, insisting on medicinal bathing and health care will also alleviate them.

    • Clear blood lipids and resolve blood stasis

    In medicine, cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction and stroke are mainly cause by poor blood circulation and blood clots blocking blood vessels. Medicinal long baths can remove blood fat and waste through sweating. When the blood is clean, it will flow smoothly, preventing cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction and stroke.

    • Remove dampness and exhaust wind

    Long-term bad living habits such as using air conditioning and not exercising can cause serious dampness. Also coldness in the human body. Medicinal bath is a whole-body health care. Bathing can make the blood circulate throughout the body. It can expel dampness, heat, wind and cold from the body through sweating, so that the human body is in a balanced state of health.

    • Bathing brings good mood

    Medicinal baths use water temperature, static pressure. Relieving physical and mental stress, improving sleep, and making one feel happier.

    03 Take a bath correctly to stay healthy

    Some people say that since bathing has so many benefits. The more frequent the better, and the longer the bath time each time, the better.

    Of course not, anything in excess will have the opposite effect.

    All health-care programs should be do in moderation, and more importantly, it is important to master the correct method.

    • Things to note when taking a bath:

    1. Rinse your body with hot water before taking a bath to get use to the hot water temperature; 2. Please replenish water before, during and after the bath, about 200ml/time; 3. The water temperature should be adjust to between 41℃ and 44℃. The water level should be up to the chest in the initial stage of the bath. It can be up to the shoulders after adaptation;

    4. The whole bath therapy only takes 8 minutes. After the bath therapy, stand up slowly, dry your body, lie down (or sit) quietly to expel dampness and cold, and sweat until the sweat is completely stop.

    Taking a bath like this 1-2 times a week for 8 minutes each time is more effective than walking for two hours.

    But we cannot pin all our hopes on medicinal baths. If we want to live a high-quality life, we ultimately have to rely on a healthy lifestyle and self-disciplined habits.

    As the saying goes: The best doctor is yourself. Not all diseases can be cure, but all diseases can be prevent.
